President John Dramani Mahama has announced that the Attorney-General’s office is actively pursuing 33 corruption cases against former government officials. These cases are the result of investigations conducted by the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Team, a five-member anti-corruption task force established by President Mahama after his 2024 election win.
The ORAL Team, comprising individuals known for their integrity and anti-corruption stance, was tasked with gathering evidence of suspected corruption under the previous administration and submitting it to the relevant authorities for action. Chaired by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the team includes Daniel Domelevo, Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, Martin Kpebu, and Raymond Archer.
After completing its investigation, the ORAL Team handed over its findings to the Attorney-General’s office for further probe and potential prosecution. President Mahama revealed that special investigative teams have been set up to delve deeper into each case, with some already uncovering substantial evidence of illicit wealth accumulation.
Court proceedings for the 33 cases are expected to commence soon, with some cases nearing prosecution and others already underway. President Mahama emphasized his commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the independence of anti-corruption agencies, stating that he won’t interfere with ongoing investigations or influence cases to be dropped.
