Forty-four (44) Ghanaians duped into travelling to Nigeria for QNET ‘jobs’ have been rescued and repatriated.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it stated explained that they were lured by social media and informal recruiters with fake work offers, facing exploitation and coercion.
A joint operation by Nigerian authorities and Ghanaian officials on March 16 led to their rescue. They arrived safely in Accra on March 20. Ghana’s government is working with Nigeria to dismantle the scam networks and support the victims.
The statement therefore warned the public to verify opportunities through official channels.
