The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), through its Energy Service Centre, has opened discussions to set up a private-sector led platform to drive coordination in Ghana’s renewable energy space.
The proposed platform is designed to give renewable energy stakeholders a shared forum to align more strategically on common policy priorities. AGI stressed that the move was not meant to displace existing institutions or networks.
Instead, it aims to complement them by improving coherence, strengthening the sector’s collective voice, and enabling joint action where interests converge.

The platform is envisioned as a mechanism to help industry players collaborate more effectively and engage government and regulators in a structured, consistent way on key issues affecting renewable energy growth.
A stakeholder forum held to advance the idea brought together a mix of actors, including civil society organisations (CSOs) such as the Strategic Youth Network for Development (SYND), alongside private firms and other industry groups.
Participants discussed how the platform could bridge gaps in advocacy and create a unified front for policy engagement.AGI noted that the initiative comes as Ghana seeks to scale up clean energy investment and meet its renewable energy targets, adding that a coordinated private-sector approach will be critical to unlocking financing, shaping regulation, and accelerating deployment.
