Black Stars have been placed in Group C for the qualifiers to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where they will face Côte d’Ivoire national football team, Gambia national football team and Somalia national football team.
The qualification series, scheduled to begin later this year, will determine the teams that advance to the 2027 AFCON tournament, which will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
The four-time African champions will be aiming for a much-improved campaign following a disappointing run in the qualifiers for the 2025 AFCON, where they failed to win a single match and ultimately missed out on the tournament in Morocco.
Before missing qualification for the 2025 edition, Ghana had also endured consecutive group-stage exits in the two previous AFCON tournaments, increasing pressure on the national team to return to continental competitiveness.
According to the qualification schedule, the opening two matchdays will be played during the FIFA international window from September 21 to October 6, 2026.
Matchdays three and four are set for November 9 to 17, 2026, while the final round of fixtures will take place between March 22 and 30, 2027.
The qualifiers will determine the final list of nations that will compete at the continental showpiece in East Africa.
