Zoomlion Ghana Limited has pledged full support for the Government’s National General Cleaning Days scheduled for Friday 10th and Saturday 11th July 2026 in flood-affected communities across the country.
In a statement, the waste management giant commended President John Dramani Mahama for the timely directive, describing it as a bold step toward protecting lives, restoring sanitation and preventing disease outbreaks in the wake of recent floods.
Zoomlion said it has activated its entire operational network and will work closely with the Ministry of Local Government and MMDAs to ensure the exercise succeeds.
According to the statement, the company will deploy sanitation personnel, waste collection trucks, compactors, skip containers and other equipment to affected areas.
Teams will also desilt drains and waterways, sweep roads, markets and lorry parks, evacuate waste and silt and disinfect public spaces to curb the risk of infections.
“While the national exercise runs for two days, our operations will continue where necessary until communities are restored to safe and healthy conditions,” Zoomlion stated.
The company is urging all residents, businesses, traditional leaders and civil society groups to come out in their numbers and participate.“Environmental sanitation is a shared responsibility. Together, let us answer the President’s call to clean our communities, protect our environment, and safeguard our future,” the statement added.
