MTN Ghana has launched “SME Accelerate”, a year-long initiative to boost small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through digital innovation, market access and capacity building. The campaign includes “Adwumapa”, a support bundle for women-led businesses, providing exclusive access to digital tools, pop-up shops and market opportunities.

The initiative aims to address key challenges faced by SMEs, including digital adoption, access to finance and capacity building. MTN Ghana has partnered with institutions in finance, healthcare and business development to deliver comprehensive support to SMEs nationwide.

Stephen Blewett, MTN Ghana CEO, emphasized the significance of SMEs in Ghana’s economy, noting that 85% of businesses in the country fall under the SME category. He described SME Accelerate as a year-long campaign focused on empowering SMEs to do business “smarter, faster, and better” by leveraging technology, capacity-building initiatives and tailored support.

Mohammed Abubakari-Sidick, MTN Senior Manager for SME, stated that the initiative will provide tailored digital tools, targeted offers and field activations across all regions. “This is more than a campaign—it’s a movement to unlock SME potential and drive economic growth,” he added.

Angela Mensah-Poku, MTN Chief Enterprise Business Officer, noted that the campaign marks a significant upgrade of MTN’s long-running SME engagements, from one-day fairs to a nationwide, year-long rollout. The initiative also includes an SME awards scheme to recognize outstanding entrepreneurs.
