Pollster, Mussa Dankwah, has revealed that opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is losing steam, while the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has gained momentum, according to March 2026 tracking polls.
Pre-2024 election, NPP led NDC 37% to 33% in party ID. Now, only 25% identify with NPP, vs 46% for NDC.
The shift’s more pronounced in battlegrounds. “In swing regions (Greater Accra, Central, Western), NPP trails 22% to NDC’s 58%,” Dankwah noted. Recent events, like NPP primaries and cocoa price controversy, may be taking a toll.NPP faces rebuilding challenges, especially in crucial swing regions that decide elections.
“The climate’s still hostile for the opposition,” Dankwah added, underscoring the NDC’s growing advantage.
