The Deputy Attorney-General, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, has given assurance that the former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director-General, Kwabena Adu Boahene, and his wife are receiving fair treatment while in custody. The couple is currently assisting with investigations by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
Dr. Srem-Sai visited Adu-Boahene and his wife, Madam Angela Adjei-Boateng, and confirmed that they have access to legal representation and are being treated well. This reassurance comes amid concerns about the treatment of individuals in custody.
The Deputy AG emphasised the importance of upholding due process and the principle that individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty. He stressed that no one should be treated as guilty until proven so by a court of competent jurisdiction.
Adu-Boahene was arrested by EOCO upon his arrival from London at Kotoka International Airport. His detention has sparked concerns about the treatment of individuals in custody and the need for adherence to due process in legal proceedings.
