“Airtel-Tigo Hasn’t Done Audit Since 2022″ – Sam George

The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has raised concerns over delays in audit reporting by Airtel-Tigo, describing it as a major challenge for the telecommunications sector.

During a live discussion on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana, he noted, “You cannot fetch water with a basket. You need to seal the leakages, but to seal the leakages, you need to identify them. As we speak, AT has not had its audit reports done since 2022. The last audit report was in 2022.”

He added that timely audits are essential for transparency and proper management of state-owned enterprises.

“As a management, it’s a prerogative for every state-owned enterprise to file their audit reports at the end of every financial year. That’s what we’ve done since 2022. There’s a lot of work that has to be done to clean up the space and ensure the right things are done,” he said.
