Ghana women’s national football team head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has praised his team’s performance following their emphatic 4-0 victory over Russia in the Pink Ladies Cup on Tuesday.
Ghana produced a commanding display, scoring three first-half goals before Ajegipena Zakaria sealed the win with a late strike in the 88th minute to keep the Black Queens top of the table.
Speaking after the match, Bjorkegren expressed delight at both the result and the manner of victory.
“We trust our girls so much, and for every game, every camp, we are just getting better,” he said. “I’m super happy we won today and the way we won 4-0. It was a deserved 4-0. It’s the best game I’ve ever seen this team play.”
The Black Queens are using the Pink Ladies Cup as part of their preparations for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco later this month.
Ghana will next face Tanzania — a team they defeated 4-1 during the group stage of the previous WAFCON tournament.
