Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has paid a visit to the German Ambassador to Ghana, Frederik Landshöft, and his family at the German Residence in Accra.
The German Embassy in Accra described the visit as a “dream come true” for the Ambassador and his family, who have followed Black Sherif’s music for several years.
In a Facebook post, the Embassy said Ambassador Landshöft first discovered Black Sherif’s Kwaku the Traveller during a cold winter evening in Berlin in 2022 and quickly became a fan of the song.
According to the Embassy, Black Sherif’s music has since accompanied the family’s journey to Ghana. Lomo Lomo reportedly featured prominently when they relocated to the country last year, while IRON BOY became the soundtrack to their first year in Ghana.
The family’s Christmas present in 2025 was an opportunity to watch Black Sherif perform live at the Zaama Disco concert.
During the latest visit, Black Sherif and Ambassador Landshöft discussed rap, highlife and Afrobeats, as well as their favourite songs, the stories behind the music and the musician’s latest project, SUN SHERIF.
The meeting also highlighted the growing cultural and musical connections between Ghana and Germany. The Embassy noted that Black Sherif’s First Sermon and Second Sermon were produced by Berlin-based German-Ghanaian producer Ghanaian Stallion.
The Embassy said Black Sherif has also built a strong following in Germany, describing his growing international appeal as an opportunity to deepen the relationship between Ghana and Germany through music.
It further praised Black Sherif as “a humble, thoughtful and deeply reflective artist” and commended his team for their warmth and professionalism.
The visit ended on a lighter note with a friendly game of table tennis between Black Sherif and Ambassador Landshöft.
According to the Embassy, Black Sherif narrowly won the contest, leaving the Ambassador to “still be processing the result.”
The German Embassy expressed its appreciation to Black Sherif for the visit and congratulated him on the release of his SUN SHERIF EP.
