A flagbearer hopeful for the National Chairman position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boakye Agyarko, has announced the start of a nationwide tour to engage party members and promote unity within the party.
The tour, which commenced on February 24, is being framed as a campaign built on the principles of hope, unity and renewal within the NPP tradition.
In a message to supporters, Mr Agyarko emphasised that his campaign is centred on shared values and collective responsibility rather than individual personalities. He explained that the nationwide engagement would provide an opportunity to interact with party faithful across the country, exchange ideas and develop strategies to rebuild and reposition the party while reconnecting with the Ghanaian electorate.
According to him, internal party contests should serve as a source of strength rather than division. He therefore appealed to supporters to conduct themselves with decorum, treat one another with respect and demonstrate maturity in both speech and behaviour throughout the campaign period.
Mr Agyarko also cautioned against turning differences in preference into personal attacks, urging members to focus instead on ideas, competence, solutions and vision for the party’s future.
He described discipline as a core strength of the NPP tradition and called on delegates, constituency and regional executives, polling station officers and grassroots members to participate in what he termed a “journey of hope.”
The nationwide tour forms part of his campaign for the National Chairman position under the themes “Restoring Hope” and “Arise and Build.”
