Mrs. Boatemaa Barfour-Awuah, CEO of Star Assurance and President of the Ghana Insurers Association(GIA) has been sworned in as the newest member of the Board of Trustees of GETFund.
Mrs. Barfuor-Awuah was sworned in today by Hon. Kwasi Emmanuel Bedzrah, Chairman of the board at the first meeting of the board in the year.
The new board member brings considerable expertise to the role.
As a Chartered Insurer with the ACII qualification from the United Kingdom, she also holds dual Master’s degrees in Finance and Accounting, and Management from the University of Southampton.
Mrs. Barfour-Awuah’s ascension to the GETFund board is a consequence of her election as the 12th President of the GIA, and association that holds representation on the Fund’s governing board. She replaces Mr. Seth Kobla Aklasi who previously held that position.
