Gyankroma Akufo-Addo, the daughter of President Akufo-Addo, has firmly rejected claims that she received $25 million to enhance certain areas of Accra.
The public figure and renowned creative has faced a fresh wave of rumors alleging that she was paid an extravagant sum to paint interchanges in Accra, but she has firmly stated that these claims are untrue and baseless.
In an official statement, Gyankroma declared:
“Let me state, again, unequivocally and for the record: This claim is completely false. No such contract has ever existed, been offered, or been awarded. If any individual, media platform, or commentator is in possession of such a contract, I challenge them to produce it publicly. They will not because it does not exist.”
Gyankroma Akufo-Addo also clarified that the Art for All project, which involved the transformation of public spaces with art installations, was privately conceived and executed through the Creative Arts Agency. Funded through a mix of private sector support and personal contributions, this initiative was aimed at enhancing public spaces and fostering community engagement through art, not driven by any government contract.
Gyankroma explained that these facts have been previously made clear and continue to remain unchanged, emphasizing the distinction between the Art for All project and the fictitious $25 million contract.
In response to this deliberate attempt to spread misinformation, Gyankroma has now taken formal legal steps. She has instructed her lawyers to take immediate action against individuals, platforms, and media outlets responsible for spreading these fabricated stories.
“The deliberate revival and spread of this fabrication, particularly across social media platforms, is a calculated attempt to mislead the public and damage my reputation. I will not allow deliberate misinformation to go unchallenged.”
