The Vienna police in Austria have launched an investigation into a robbery targeting Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, at their hotel.
Thieves made off with $2,250 in cash and two Rolex watches belonging to players ahead of their international friendly match on March 27, 2026.
The Sports Minister, Kofi Adams, said preliminary reports indicate the hotel’s CCTV cameras were not operational during the incident, and police are reviewing the footage.
“The initial report we have is that the CCTV was not functioning, and the police are checking when it stopped working and who was responsible for the hotel’s surveillance system at that time,” Adams said
