The Ministry of the Interior has announced that the Government has released funds to settle the outstanding rent allowance for the year 2025.

In a statement on Monday, March 2, 2026, the Ministry said the payment covers arrears owed to eligible personnel of the Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and Ghana Immigration Service.

The Ministry expressed gratitude to officers for their patience and understanding during the period the arrears were pending.

In a bid to streamline future payments, the Ministry revealed that rent allowance disbursements have been fully mechanised.

“Effective from March 2026, rent allowance payments will be processed and disbursed together with monthly salaries,” the statement read.

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to the welfare of all personnel under its oversight and affirmed ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and other stakeholders to guarantee the prompt fulfilment of all entitlements.
