The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has given the green light for the payment of rent allowances owed to security service personnel for the first nine months of 2026.

The confirmation came from the Press Secretary at the Ministry of the Interior, Julius Kwame Anthony, in a Facebook post on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

According to him, the Minister has authorised the disbursement covering January to September.

Mr Anthony disclosed that all the necessary verification has already been done by the various security agencies together with the Interior Ministry.

He explained that with validation concluded, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department is now set to release the funds.

The move will settle outstanding rent benefits due security personnel for the January-September period.
