Ghanaian businessman Ibrahim Mahama has provided GH¢200,000 in financial assistance to xenophobia victim Emmanuel Akowuah Asamoah to support his reintegration and help him rebuild his livelihood.
Beyond the financial support, Mr Mahama has also pledged to establish a cement distribution and construction hardware depot for Mr Asamoah as part of a broader plan to transition him into the construction supply sector.
The funding is expected to enable Mr Asamoah to take a one-month break to reunite with his family before returning to Ghana to begin preparations for the new business venture.

The initiative follows Mr Mahama’s earlier assurance to the Minister for Foreign Affairs that he would support Ghanaians affected by xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
During a meeting with Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Benjamin Anani Quashie, Mr Mahama reportedly encouraged Ghanaians in South Africa to return home and leverage employment and business opportunities aligned with their skills.
He further urged those experiencing hardship abroad to return to Ghana to either establish businesses or acquire vocational training, assuring them of his support.
Mr Asamoah, who previously operated a nail and hairdressing business in South Africa, is expected to shift into the hardware and construction supply industry upon his return.
Mr Mahama also commended the High Commissioner for his commitment to the welfare of Ghanaians in South Africa and encouraged Mr Asamoah to remain disciplined and focused as he begins a new phase of his life in Ghana.
