Muntaka Mohammed, Ghana’s Interior Minister, has hosted a high-level delegation from Burkina Faso led by Emile Zerbo, Minister of Transport and Territorial Administration, at his office in Accra.
The meeting, held on Thursday, April 2, also included the Burkinabe Ambassador to Ghana and focused on strengthening cooperation across key sectors and deepening diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Minister Mohammed highlighted the longstanding historical and cultural ties binding Ghana and Burkina Faso, describing the engagement as a reflection of shared interests and enduring friendship.
He also acknowledged Burkina Faso’s support during critical moments, including the Gbinyiri conflict, when some Ghanaians sought refuge across the border, as well as its response to the recent tragic killings of Ghanaian traders in Burkina Faso.

Reaffirming Ghana’s commitment to regional peace and security, the Interior Minister called for sustained dialogue and stronger collaboration between the two nations to promote stability and mutual benefit.
The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation and reinforce diplomatic ties within the West African sub-region.
