Coach Karim Zito has been appointed head coach of Division One League side AshantiGold SC, just 15 days after resigning from Asante Kotoko.
Zito stepped down from his role with the Porcupine Warriors following a difficult spell that saw the team record only one win in six matches.
The former Dreams FC manager is expected to lead AshantiGold’s push for promotion to the Ghana Premier League. While details of his contract remain undisclosed, he is anticipated to stay with the club until the end of the current season.
AshantiGold currently lead Zone 2 of the Division One League standings with 40 points after Matchday 20, placing them in a strong position to secure promotion.
Zito brings significant experience and recent success, having guided Dreams FC to FA Cup glory in 2023 and a historic semi-final appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup. He also won the FA Cup with Kotoko last season, adding the Toyota Cup, Super Cup, and President’s Cup to his honours.
