President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Libreville with global leaders for the first International Forum for Innovation and Development, a top-level meeting centered on driving growth via technology, investment, and governance reforms.
The update was shared by Minister in Charge of Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu. Held under the auspices of Gabon’s Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, the forum gathers heads of state, decision-makers, global investors and tech specialists to tackle the theme “Political Stability, Business Climate, and Artificial Intelligence: Catalysts for Growth.”
Organisers say the event seeks to establish Gabon as a regional innovation hub and a prime location for foreign investment. The meeting also features the opening of the Omar Bongo Ondimba Congress Centre, a new complex set to host major global engagements and talks on development matters. Talks at the summit are expected to produce the “Libreville Declaration,” setting out pledges by political heads to improve governance, boost transparency, and speed up digital adoption across Africa.
President Mahama, who has often called for deeper cooperation between states and business, is set to use the forum to advocate partnerships that deliver broad-based growth. His attendance highlights Ghana’s aim to tap innovation and targeted investment to widen economic prospects and advance continental development.
