President John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaians to elevate the nation’s well-being above political affiliation, ethnic loyalty, and individual ambitions as a pathway to fostering cohesion and accelerating national progress.
He emphasized that authentic love for the country must be demonstrated through the daily conduct of both civilians and state officials, particularly in safeguarding public assets and delivering unbiased service to the populace.
Delivering his address during the 69th Independence Day celebration on Friday, March 6, at the Jubilee House, the seat of government, the President stressed that the nation’s advancement hinges on a unified resolve by the people to prioritize the homeland.
“True patriotism must be shown through our everyday actions. The citizen who protects public property. The public servant who treats everyone with respect,” he stated.
He further highlighted the essential contribution of business leaders in shaping the country’s trajectory.
“And the entrepreneur who opts to invest his resources in Ghana’s future. Above all, we must place country above party, above tribe, and above personal interest. Citizens, Ghana is bigger than any one of us,” President Mahama remarked.
