President John Dramani Mahama has presented Ghana as a stable and strategic destination for global investment, highlighting the country’s strengths as it seeks to attract new capital amid evolving global economic trends.
Addressing the Ghana–UK Investment Summit in London on Monday, June 1, President Mahama said Ghana is well-positioned to engage investors looking for resilient and emerging growth markets.
He noted that the current global economic climate is prompting businesses and investors to rethink supply chains, diversify investment portfolios and identify new destinations capable of delivering long-term growth.
“This summit comes at a defining moment for Ghana and, indeed, for Africa. Around the world, businesses and investors are reassessing supply chains, searching for resilient growth markets, diversifying investment destinations and positioning themselves for the next era of global economic transformation,” he said.
According to the President, Ghana offers an increasingly attractive investment proposition anchored on political stability, democratic governance, strategic geographic location and improving macroeconomic conditions.
“In that changing global landscape, Ghana offers something increasingly valuable: political stability, democratic maturity, strategic geographic access, improving macroeconomic fundamentals and a government committed to creating a transparent and investor-friendly business environment,” he stated.
President Mahama emphasised that these advantages place Ghana in a strong position to attract sustainable investment, deepen international partnerships and drive economic growth.
He further assured investors of the government’s commitment to maintaining a transparent business environment and implementing policies that support private sector development and long-term economic resilience.
The summit brought together business executives, institutional investors, policymakers and development partners from both Ghana and the United Kingdom to explore new opportunities for trade, investment and economic cooperation.
The event forms part of broader efforts to strengthen economic ties between Ghana and the UK while positioning Ghana as a preferred destination for foreign direct investment in Africa.
