Maison Yusif Unleashes The Beast: An Oud Statement Rooted in Loyalty

This summer, Maison Yusif Fragrance will debut The Beast, a bold oudy, spicy, aromatic scent crafted in Ghana and launching simultaneously in the U.S., Ghana, Paris, and Nigeria.

For master perfumer Yusif Jnr Meizongo, this is more than a release. “This is not just another fragrance,” Meizongo shared. “It is a statement. A reflection of power, loyalty, and the unseen forces that shape greatness.”

That loyalty traces back to Mohamet Mbayi, known as SWAGGY Mo, whose authentic, selfless reviews first carried Maison Yusif beyond Ghana’s borders. The Beast was born as an olfactory tribute to that bond.

The fragrance was shaped by Maison Yusif’s core creative team. Suweiba Shardow, a leading figure in the female olfaction division since 2023, brought her refined mastery of accords and has represented the brand internationally, including at a Dubai fragrance expo in 2024. Abdul Rashid Yusif Meizongo, central to men’s olfaction, sourced rare and daring raw materials that define the scent’s depth. Kamran Muhammad, who joined in 2024, serves as head lab technician and Kokomlemle branch manager, overseeing formulation precision.

The identity of The Beast was equally collaborative. General Manager Baidawi Shamhuna conceptualized the name back in 2023, setting the tone for its commanding presence. Mahmud Yaro Yusif then shaped the final packaging, ensuring the visual matched the fragrance’s power.

With intricate layering and a deep, commanding presence, The Beast aims to redefine global perceptions of bold oriental fragrances from Africa. As anticipation builds, Maison Yusif is positioning this as a defining moment for African perfumery.
