MTN MoMo has partnered with Sanlam Allianz Life Insurance Ghana LTD and aYo Intermediaries Ghana LTD to launch a comprehensive life insurance package for its mobile money agents across Ghana.

The annual renewable policy, provided at no additional cost to agents, covers permanent and total disability, temporary to total disability, critical illness, accidental medical reimbursement, hospitalization, and death benefits.

Speaking at the launch, MTN Ghana’s Chief Sales and Distribution Officer, Samuel Addo, emphasized the vital role mobile money agents play in expanding financial access in communities. He highlighted the partnership as a demonstration of MobileMoney LTD’s commitment to supporting agents’ welfare.

“At MobileMoney LTD, we prioritize agent safety and well-being,” Addo said. “This partnership reinforces our commitment to protect and empower our mobile money agents.”

Addo also expressed concern over the recent violence and insecurity faced by mobile money agents, assuring that MobileMoney LTD is exploring ways to safeguard them.

The insurance policy, underwritten by Sanlam Allianz Life Insurance Ghana LTD, provides financial support to agents and their loved ones in case of unforeseen circumstances.

According to aYo Ghana’s CEO, Francis Gota, “Life is unpredictable, and mobile money agents work long hours, often facing daily risks. This insurance scheme offers peace of mind to agents and their loved ones.”

Sanlam Allianz Life Insurance Ghana LTD’s CEO, Tawiah Ben Ahmed, assured agents of prompt claims settlement.

MobileMoney LTD remains committed to supporting its over 300,000 mobile money agents nationwide, having initiated the Agents Insurance Scheme in 2020.
