Former National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Chief Executive Officer Dr Mustapha Hamid is leading the race for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) First Vice Chairman position, according to a poll by Global InfoAnalytics.
Dr Hamid secured 18.3% of voter support, narrowly ahead of Henry Nana Boakye and Nana Akomea, who each polled 17.5%.
Kojo Fosu Boaudu placed fourth with 5.6%, followed by Masawudu Osman with 4.5% and Richard Ahiagbah with 3.8%.
Other candidates recorded lower levels of support, including Yaa A. Frimpong (3.1%), Abena Pokuaa Amoah (1.4%), and Samuel Yeyune and Abankwa Yeboah (1.3% each).
Meanwhile, 19.7% of respondents remained undecided, highlighting the uncertainty surrounding the contest.
The poll comes ahead of the NPP’s national executive elections in October, when members will elect new national officers.
The figures point to a closely contested race, with Dr Hamid holding only a marginal lead over Nana Boakye and Nana Akomea.
