The Ghana Police Service is appealing to the public for information to help track down three inmates who remain on the run following a jailbreak at the Adabraka Police Station.

The incident occurred on Sunday, April 26, 2026, when six suspects escaped from lawful custody, triggering a major security response across the capital.

Police say three of the escapees have since been re-arrested, while efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining fugitives in parts of Accra.

Security has been heightened in key areas, with officers deployed to strategic locations as the manhunt intensifies.

Authorities have also launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the escape, with particular focus on possible security lapses at the station.

In a statement, the Police Service urged the public to assist with credible information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects, assuring that all information received will be treated with strict confidentiality.

The Service emphasised that public cooperation is crucial to ensuring the swift recapture of the fugitives and maintaining confidence in the country’s security system.

Further updates are expected as investigations continue.
