President John Dramani Mahama received a full state welcome at Les Invalides in Paris on his official visit to France, with a ceremonial display of military honours highlighting the strong diplomatic ties between the two nations.
The visit provided a platform for high-level discussions with French leaders, beginning with a bilateral meeting with Gérard Larcher, President of the French Senate. Key topics included boosting trade and investment, enhancing regional security, and collaborating in the fight against terrorism.

President Mahama was accompanied by a senior Ghanaian delegation, including Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, National Security Advisor Prosper Bani, Secretary to the President Callistus Mahama, Presidential Advisor and Special Aide Joyce Mogtari, and Ambassador to France Mavis Frimpong.

Later, the delegation engaged President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, cementing ties and exploring avenues for closer cooperation.
