Raymond Archer has been confirmed as the substantive Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), effective October 27, 2026.
The Board Chairman of EOCO, Daniel Domelevo, confirmed the appointment, indicating that Mr Archer formally assumed the position on the stated date.
Mr Archer has been serving as Acting Executive Director since August 2025, when he was appointed to replace the then head of the Office, Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah.
A former investigative journalist, Mr Archer takes up the substantive role at a time when EOCO continues to pursue its mandate of investigating and prosecuting economic and organised crime.
The Office is responsible for tackling offences including money laundering, human trafficking and other forms of economic and organised criminal activity.
His confirmation is expected to provide continuity in the leadership of the state agency as it works to strengthen its operations and safeguard Ghana’s financial and economic interests.
Mr Archer’s leadership has attracted both praise and criticism. While some have commended his work since assuming office, others have raised concerns about what they consider a high-handed approach to certain aspects of EOCO’s operations.
