The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Rev. Dr. Stephen Wengam, has called on Ghanaians to express gratitude to God for the country’s notable advancements over the past year.
Speaking at a Non-Denominational Thanksgiving service at the Flagstaff House on Wednesday, January 7, 2025, Rev. Wengam emphasised that thanksgiving was essential for sustaining development and national progress.
The service was themed “The Impact of Gratitude to God and Its Impact on Development.”
Rev. Wengam highlighted Ghana’s economic stabilization and currency gains, noting that the country’s progress has garnered international recognition. “I have had friends outside Ghana who have called and are full of praise for our leader for what God has done in the past year,” he said. “Transformation calls for thanksgiving,” he added, stressing that gratitude to God fosters unity, humility, and collective commitment to sustaining development. The Thanksgiving Service brought together religious leaders, government officials, and citizens to reflect on national progress and seek divine guidance for the future.
