President John Dramani Mahama has revealed that more than one million Ghanaians secured employment in the first two quarters of 2025, calling it a strong indicator of economic recovery. Speaking during the 2026 State of the Nation Address (SONA) in Parliament on Friday, February 27, he attributed the gains to targeted government interventions across key sectors.
“Over one million Ghanaians gained employment within the first two quarters of 2025,” President Mahama stated, highlighting the impact of policies aimed at boosting agriculture, infrastructure, small and medium-sized enterprises, and the digital economy.
“These numbers demonstrate that our policies are beginning to yield tangible benefits for households and young people across the country,” he added.
The President acknowledged that while progress is encouraging, the government remains committed to expanding job opportunities further, particularly for the youth, through continued investment and private sector collaboration.
He affirmed that job creation will continue to be a central focus of his administration’s economic agenda as Ghana works to consolidate growth and improve living standards nationwide.
