The State Housing Company Limited (SHC) is offering 195 homes for sale with a five per cent discount as part of efforts to improve access to homeownership in Ghana.
The company is also encouraging workers who contribute to pension funds to explore using their pension benefits as equity contributions towards mortgage financing, subject to applicable requirements.
Speaking at an open house event, SHC Managing Director John Bawah said the company was expanding its housing projects to support the government’s efforts to address the country’s housing deficit.
“We’re looking at supporting the government in its quest to address the housing challenge, both from the supply side and the demand side,” he said.
The company’s Head of Commercial, Agyekum Sampong, announced the discount and urged prospective buyers to explore available financing options.
The houses are available in two-, three- and four-bedroom designs. Two-bedroom houses cost GH¢950,000, three-bedroom homes are priced at GH¢1.295 million, while four-bedroom properties cost GH¢2.17 million.
Mr Sampong said the properties offered spacious rooms, generous land sizes, flexible purchasing arrangements and were free from litigation.
However, the prices could remain a challenge for workers whose incomes are insufficient to afford the homes, despite the discount and potential financing options.
SHC says it will continue expanding its housing portfolio to increase supply and create more opportunities for Ghanaians to own homes.
