The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged murder of a 34-year-old mobile money vendor, Christian Amponsah, at a guest house near Kasoa Second in the Central Region.
The suspects are Felicia Osei Appiah, 59; Clement Opoku Yeboah, 24; and a juvenile female whose identity has not been disclosed.
According to a statement dated October 28, 2026, and signed by the Head of Public Affairs for the Central East Region, DSP Victor Kofi Dosoo, the arrests were made on Tuesday, October 27, following a report by the manager of the guest house.
The manager reportedly raised the alarm after Mr Amponsah and the juvenile, who had booked a room for two hours, failed to leave after the booking period had expired.
When he went to check on them, he allegedly found Mr Amponsah lying motionless in a pool of blood.
Police investigate circumstances of death
Police officers who responded to the scene found the deceased lying face down, covered with bedsheets, curtains and pillows, the statement said.
His body was subsequently conveyed to the Police Hospital mortuary in Accra for preservation and further examination, including identification and an autopsy.
The autopsy is expected to help investigators establish the cause of death as inquiries into the incident continue.
Suspects in police custody
The three suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with investigations.
The Central East Regional Police Command said efforts were underway to conclude investigations and put the suspects before court.
The police also expressed appreciation to members of the public and other stakeholders whose information, according to the command, contributed to the apprehension of the suspects.
The circumstances surrounding Mr Amponsah’s death remain under investigation, and the allegations against the suspects have yet to be determined by a court.
