US President Donald Trump is set to speak to Russian President Vladimir Putin at 10:00 EDT (15:00 BST). The US president said on Truth Social the call will focus on ending the “bloodbath” in Ukraine. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz says European leaders will speak with Trump before the call as “preparation”. After speaking with Putin, the US president will hold discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and leaders from some Nato countries. This comes days after Ukrainian and Russian delegations failed to reach any deal during face-to-face talks in Istanbul on Friday.-BBC
