Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang participated in the 60th Independence Day celebrations of Guyana, highlighting growing diplomatic ties and shared values between the two countries.
The celebrations commenced with an interfaith service held on the lawns of the State House on Tuesday, May 26. The event brought together leaders and followers of the Hindu, Muslim, and Christian faiths in a symbolic display of unity and national cohesion.

The ceremony emphasised themes of diversity, mutual respect, and the collective pursuit of national development.
Following the service, the Vice President joined Guyana’s leadership, including President Irfaan Ali and Prime Minister Mark Phillips, as well as former Heads of State and other dignitaries, at a private reception hosted at the presidential residence.

The engagements were characterised by cordial interactions and diplomatic exchanges, reflecting the strong spirit of friendship and cooperation between Ghana and Guyana.

The occasion also reinforced the broader significance of the independence celebration, particularly its message of unity across faiths, generations, and national communities.
