The Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has confirmed her participation in the 2026 Africa Energy Technology Conference 2026, set to take place in Accra.
The three-day conference, scheduled from March 19 to 21 at the Labadi Beach Hotel, is expected to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, and energy experts from across Africa and beyond to explore innovative solutions to the continent’s energy challenges.
Her participation, organisers say, reflects the government’s commitment to advancing Ghana’s energy transition agenda, promoting technological innovation, and positioning the country as a key hub for energy dialogue on the continent.
The Vice President is expected to deliver a keynote address, focusing on the role of technology in expanding sustainable energy access and driving industrial growth.
Her confirmation follows a courtesy visit by the Founder and President of the conference, Ms Emelia Akumah, and her team, during which discussions centred on energy access, innovation, and inclusive development. The meeting also highlighted shared priorities, including initiatives aimed at empowering women and girls in the energy sector.
The Africa Energy Technology Conference is a premier platform designed to accelerate Africa’s energy transition through collaboration, investment, and innovation. This year’s edition is expected to attract strong participation from government delegations, private sector stakeholders, development partners, and technology innovators.
Key sessions will focus on policy harmonisation, cross-border financing, digital connectivity, and workforce development, alongside dedicated discussions on women’s role in energy innovation and youth participation in the sector.
Organisers say the conference will also feature technical sessions, deal-making platforms, and a closing roadmap aimed at strengthening intra-African energy collaboration.
With preparations underway, the event is expected to serve as a critical platform for shaping Africa’s energy future and advancing sustainable development across the continent.
