The Yale School of Management (SOM), the graduate business school of Yale University, has appointed Togbe Afede XIV as Chair of its Council of Global Advisors.

The appointment took effect on February 16, according to a statement shared on the traditional ruler’s social media page on Saturday, March 7.

In the new role, Togbe Afede XIV will lead a group of global leaders who advise the school’s senior leadership on strategies to expand the institution’s international reach and influence.

“Yale School of Management (SOM), the Graduate business school of Yale University, has appointed Togbe Afede XIV as Chair of its Council of Global Advisors, effective February 16, 2026,” the statement announced.

The Council of Global Advisors is made up of distinguished leaders from various countries and professional backgrounds, including alumni and non-alumni of the school.

Members of the council support the school’s leadership by providing strategic advice, contributing expertise and helping to shape initiatives that strengthen the institution’s global presence.

As Chair, Togbe Afede XIV is expected to work closely with the Dean of the school, Kerwin Charles, and other members of the leadership team to guide the council’s priorities and deepen global partnerships.

“Togbe’s appointment is based on his admirable leadership, experience, life and career,” the statement noted.

The Asogli State ruler will serve a three-year term, with the possibility of renewal.

During the period, he will also serve as an ex-officio member of the SOM Board of Advisors while supporting efforts to strengthen student recruitment and raise global awareness of the school’s mission and impact.
