The Efiewura star reportedly collapsed while hosting a radio programme in Tarkwa and was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital.
Ghanaian actor, comedian and media personality Seth Kwame Dzokoto, popularly known for his role as Judge Koboo in the television series Efiewura, has died at the age of 51.
Dzokoto reportedly passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026, after collapsing while hosting a radio programme at Owass Radio in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality of the Western Region, where he resided.
He was rushed to a hospital in Tarkwa but was pronounced dead on arrival, according to a source within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), of which he was a member.
His reported death comes weeks after photographs showing him looking unwell circulated widely on social media.
Dzokoto’s passing marks the reported loss of a familiar figure in Ghana’s entertainment industry, where he built a career spanning acting, comedy, television presentation, radio broadcasting and voice-over work.
A household name through Efiewura
Dzokoto rose to prominence through his portrayal of Judge Koboo in Efiewura, one of Ghana’s well-known local television series.
His performance made him a recognisable face in Ghanaian households, with the character becoming one of the defining roles of his career.
Beyond acting, he showcased his versatility as a television presenter, particularly through TV3’s food and tourism programme Edziban.
The programme celebrated Ghanaian cuisine and local food culture, introducing audiences to different dishes and culinary experiences from across the country.
His work across television, comedy and advertising voice-overs established him as a versatile entertainer capable of engaging audiences through different media platforms.
Broadcasting and voice-over career
Dzokoto also built a career in radio, working with stations including Skyy Power FM in Takoradi and Hello FM in Kumasi.
His broadcasting experience complemented his acting and television work, allowing him to connect with audiences both on screen and over the airwaves.
Through his involvement in comedy, radio presentation and voice-over production, he carved out a place for himself in Ghana’s media landscape.
From entertainment to politics
Beyond his work in entertainment, Dzokoto ventured into partisan politics under the banner of the National Democratic Congress.
He contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat in the 2016 general election, extending his public engagement from the entertainment industry into electoral politics.
Although he did not win the parliamentary seat, his participation reflected his interest in public affairs and his willingness to pursue a role in Ghana’s political landscape.
Dzokoto’s reported death brings renewed attention to a career that spanned several areas of Ghanaian entertainment and broadcasting, with his portrayal of Judge Koboo remaining among his most recognisable contributions to local television.
