Kwame Baffoe, widely known as Abronye DC, has won re-election as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bono East Regional Chairman after a tight race on Saturday, August 15.

Abronye polled 201 votes to beat four other contenders and will continue steering the NPP in the Bono East Region. The win hands him a fresh term to head the party’s regional apparatus and manage its operations throughout the region.

It also means he will keep supervising the party’s organisational work and political engagements at the regional level. The regional chair role is among the most powerful within the NPP’s regional setup, with the occupant tasked with coordinating constituency executives, rallying members and ensuring directives from national leadership are carried out.

Abronye’s return to office is noteworthy given the spotlight he has been under in recent months. In the contest for Regional Secretary, Kofi Ofosu Boateng came out on top with 187 votes.

He will serve on the new regional executive and handle the day-to-day running and coordination of party activities in the region. The secretary post is vital to the regional structure, overseeing administration, record-keeping and liaison between regional executives and other arms of the party.

Abdul Razak Oppong also clinched the regional organiser slot after securing 229 votes to win.
