The Adabraka District Court has remanded Bright Aweh and Thomas Zigah, the two men standing trial over the alleged murder of Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah, into prison custody for an additional two weeks.
The court’s decision follows a delay in delivering a final determination in the case, which had previously been adjourned to July 29, 2026, for judgment.
Proceedings have been further delayed as the prosecution awaits the outcome of a DNA examination report and legal advice from the Attorney-General’s Office to determine the next course of action.
The accused are facing charges in connection with the killing of Stephen King Amoah, an Immigration Officer whose death sparked widespread public concern and renewed calls for justice.
Amoah was initially reported missing after he failed to return home from work, prompting a search by security agencies. The case later turned into a murder investigation when his partially charred body was discovered.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of Bright Aweh and Thomas Zigah, who were later arraigned before the Adabraka District Court. The prosecution has relied on evidence gathered during the investigation, including forensic materials, as it continues to build its case.
The two accused persons will remain in prison custody and are expected to reappear before the court after the expiry of the two-week remand period.
