The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma North, Ewurabena Aubynn, has been sworn in as a member of the Governing Board of the Ghana Shippers Authority. This appointment is expected to strengthen the Authority’s engagement with grassroots communities and contribute to policy direction in trade and logistics.
Mrs. Aubynn’s appointment comes after she made history as the second National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate to win the Ablekuma North parliamentary seat since 1992. She won the seat in a rerun election held on July 11, 2025, after a highly contested process.
As a first-time MP, she brings a track record of social impact and community engagement to the board. She is widely recognised for her philanthropic work, particularly through the Awula Foundation, a non-profit organisation she founded in February 2023. The foundation has been instrumental in supporting vulnerable groups within the Ablekuma North Constituency.
Mrs. Aubynn’s appointment to the Ghana Shippers Authority Board is seen as a strategic move to leverage her community engagement experience and social impact initiatives to inform policy decisions in trade and logistics. Her swearing-in marks a new chapter in her career, where she will work to ensure the Authority’s policies and programmes benefit from her grassroots perspective.
