Gospel singer Florence Obinim has stated that she is prepared to accept the end of her marriage if her husband, Daniel Obinim, decides to formally walk away from their relationship.
Her remarks follow recent comments by Bishop Obinim in which he openly expressed dissatisfaction with their marriage, claiming he has become fearful of his wife and often feels uneasy about returning home.
Speaking in an interview with GHPage, Florence Obinim said she has exhausted every effort to preserve their more than two-decade-long union and would not prevent her husband from leaving if he believes separation is the best option.
According to her, she had already suggested the possibility of an amicable separation about a month ago after repeated attempts to resolve their differences failed to yield results.
She explained that after years of investing emotionally and personally in the marriage, she has reached a stage where she can no longer bear the responsibility of sustaining the relationship alone.
Florence maintained that while she values marriage and remains committed to its principles, there comes a point when personal well-being must also be considered.
The gospel musician said she has made significant sacrifices throughout the marriage and believes that both partners should be free to pursue peace and happiness if remaining together becomes increasingly difficult.
She stressed that she has no intention of forcing her husband to stay in a relationship he no longer wants, arguing that doing so could worsen the situation for both of them.
“I have done my part and given my best. If he wants to leave, I cannot stop him,” she indicated.
Florence Obinim also appealed to religious leaders and supporters to keep Bishop Obinim in their prayers, expressing concern about what she described as behavioural changes that she believes are inconsistent with Christian values.
Her latest comments have further fueled public discussion about the state of the couple’s marriage, which has come under intense scrutiny following Bishop Obinim’s recent public disclosures about challenges within their relationship.
Although neither party has announced any formal decision regarding divorce, the public exchange of concerns has heightened speculation about the future of one of Ghana’s most prominent celebrity marriages.
