The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the release of funds for the payment of 2026 WASSCE practical examinations for senior high schools across the country.
In a statement dated April 21, 2026, the Service said the funds have been disbursed to all Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) to ensure the smooth conduct of practical exams.
According to GES, the intervention is aimed at guaranteeing that all practical examinations scheduled for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) are fully supported, including the provision of required materials and other essential resources.
The Service noted that the timely release of the funds is expected to facilitate a well-coordinated examination process, allowing students to focus on their academic work without disruptions, while also easing any potential financial burden on parents and guardians.
GES further urged regional, district, and school authorities to ensure that the funds are applied strictly for their intended purpose to promote efficiency and accountability in the administration of the examinations.
Management indicated that it will continue to monitor the utilisation of the funds to ensure compliance with guidelines and to maintain high standards in the conduct of the exams.
The Service also expressed appreciation to stakeholders for their cooperation in advancing quality education and reaffirmed its commitment to creating an enabling environment for the success of all students.
The statement was signed by the Head of Public Relations at GES, Daniel Fenyi.
