The Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBoD) have declared a full-scale manhunt for four key suspects wanted for their involvement in a major illegal gold smuggling ring.
The wanted individuals have been identified as Abdul Karim, Sadique Abubakar, Muhammed Afsal Puth Puthalan, and Muhammed Nandoli Rafeeq.
According to the Chief Executive of the Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, they are part of a seven-person syndicate targeting the national economy.
At a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, Mr. Gyamfi confirmed that three other accomplices are already in the custody of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
A substantial bounty of one million Ghana cedis has now been placed for information leading to the capture of each of the four remaining fugitives.
“We have an arrest warrant for all of them. If you have any information, report it to the nearest police station or the GoldBod head office. A reward of GHC1 million is on offer for each of them,” Mr. Gyamfi stated.
