The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has ordered a full-scale investigation into allegations emerging from a widely circulated video that accuses certain officers stationed at Kibi in the Eastern Region of orchestrating the illegal withdrawal of GH¢400,000 from a mobile money agent’s private float.
The IGP has formally referred the matter to the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to scrutinise the claims currently dominating online discourse.
Authorities have confirmed that the alleged victim has been reached and is now assisting detectives as they work to piece together the events leading to the incident. In a public statement, the Police Service vowed to handle the probe with the utmost integrity, assuring citizens that the findings will be made public as soon as inquiries are wrapped up.
