President John Dramani Mahama will from Friday, October 9, begin a two-day working visit to the Ahafo Region to inspect development projects and engage residents on government policies and economic growth.
The tour forms part of his Resetting Ghana Tour and will focus on key infrastructure and agribusiness interventions, including the poultry, meat and feed processing facility at Bechem in the Tano South Municipality.
President Mahama will also inspect the Tepa–Goaso Road project being executed under the government’s Big Push Programme and the Ntontroso Bridge linking Acherensua, a major food-producing area in the region.
He will be accompanied by the Food and Agriculture Minister, Eric Opoku, Roads and Highways Minister Kwame Agbodza, Trade, Agribusiness and Industry Minister, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, and the Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister, Mahama Ayariga.
The Ahafo Regional Minister, Charity Gardiner, and other regional officials will also join the President on the tour.
The visit will climax on Saturday, October 10, with a town hall meeting at the Victory Centre Assemblies of God Church in Goaso, where President Mahama will interact with residents under the theme #ResettingGhana Citizens Engagement with President Mahama.
The engagement will offer chiefs and residents a platform to share concerns, give feedback on government programmes and outline development priorities for the region, while the President and his delegation will update participants on ongoing regional and national projects.
