He made the call after receiving an honorary doctorate in Public Administration from Yonsei University in South Korea.
According to the university, the award recognises President Mahama’s leadership, his contributions to national development and his role in strengthening relations between Ghana and South Korea.
Speaking during the ceremony, President Mahama thanked the Korean government and people for the warm reception given to him and his delegation during the visit.
He also expressed appreciation to the university’s board, management, faculty and students for the honour.

“This honour you have bestowed upon me today is one that I accept on behalf of all the people of Ghana as a symbol of the deep respect and mutual relations between our two countries,” he said.
President Mahama also encouraged leaders and young people to uphold values such as truth, excellence and collaboration.
“May we all commit ourselves to choosing peace over conflict, cooperation over confrontation and hope over despair,” he said.
