President John Dramani Mahama says the expansion of the Zonda Tec Ghana Assembly Plant will create approximately 1,000 additional indirect jobs across Ghana’s automotive value chain.
According to the President, the investment is also expected to nearly double Zonda Tec’s direct workforce while creating new employment opportunities in logistics, maintenance, component supply, distribution and other support services.
President Mahama made the remarks on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the commissioning of the third phase of the company’s assembly plant.
“The investment we are celebrating today will significantly expand employment opportunities. It is expected to almost double direct employment at Zonda Tec while creating approximately 1,000 additional indirect jobs across logistics, maintenance, component supply, distribution and other supporting industries,” he said.
The President also commended Zonda Tec for establishing an academy to train young Ghanaians in automotive skills. He further praised the Zonda Tec Foundation’s scholarship programme, which provides opportunities for young Ghanaians to travel to China for specialised training in automotive manufacturing.
He said these initiatives would complement the company’s expansion by equipping Ghanaian youth with the technical expertise required to take advantage of growing opportunities in the country’s automotive industry.
