President John Dramani Mahama has announced that Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is set to return to Ghana after making a full recovery from a recent illness. “I’m happy to state that I spoke to her yesterday morning, and she will be back in the country before the end of next week,” Mahama said.
He expressed relief and gratitude for the Vice President’s improved health, noting that she is ready to resume her official duties. “By God’s grace, she is fully recovered and she’s going to come and go back to her duties,” Mahama added.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang had sought medical attention at the University of Ghana Medical Centre after falling ill on March 28, 2025, and later travelled abroad for further treatment. Her return is expected to bring renewed momentum to government business as she resumes her responsibilities.
