Fuel prices are expected to remain unchanged in the next pricing window, with the stability of the Ghana cedi and lower international crude oil prices easing pressure on pump prices.
Petrosol CEO Michael Bozumbil said consumers should not expect an increase, although the company was still finalising its calculations.
Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express Business Edition on Thursday, he said the outlook was largely driven by two factors: international fuel prices and the performance of the cedi.
“The stability of the cedi has contributed to the price stability in recent times,” he said.
Mr Bozumbil explained that in the past, depreciation of the cedi had offset declines in international fuel prices, preventing consumers from benefiting from lower global prices.
He said the cedi’s recent stability was allowing favourable movements in international markets to translate more directly into stable pump prices.
While he did not confirm whether prices would fall, Mr Bozumbil said there was currently no indication of an increase.
